16th December 2020, Singapore - Today, Dynabook Singapore Pte. Ltd. Today announced the availability of the Intel® Evo™ certified Portégé X30W-J. Weighing just 989 grams1, the Portégé X30W-J is the World’s Lightest 13-inch convertible with 11th Gen Intel® Core™ Processors2. As an Intel® Evo™ certified mobile computing solution, the Portégé X30W-J meets the strict requirements for battery life, start-up time, processor, Thunderbolt™ 4 and Wi-Fi® 6 as specified by the latest iteration of Intel’s Project Athena benchmark for the best mobile computing experience.
The Portégé X30W-J is loaded with the high-performing 28W variants of the 11th Gen 10nm quad-core Intel® Core™ i5 and i7 processors. It is also equipped with powerful storage and memory options, including up to 32GB of dual-channel LPDDR4x memory running at 4266MHz, and ultra-fast PCIe SSD storage (up to 1TB) for uninterrupted productivity. Ideal for today’s increasingly data-intensive business applications, the convertible is also available in configurations with the new Intel® Iris® Xe powered graphics technology, delivering best-in-class performance, discrete-level graphics, responsiveness and battery life.
Thanks to an extra-long up to 16-hour battery life3, users have peace of mind that the Portégé X30W-J will be ready to go, even without a plug socket in sight. What’s more, its quick charge function will get battery back up to 40% capacity in just 30 minutes. The device’s Instant On capabilities also allow for rapid wake in under one second through facial and fingerprint biometric activation. For the spontaneous capture of written ideas, the Portégé X30W-J’s 5-mode convertible form means it can easily become a tablet and, when paired with Windows Ink Workspace and an optional AES stylus pen, it enables a natural pen-on-paper writing experience. When using the pen, the keyboard is automatically disabled to avoid accidental keystrokes.

Connectivity is the lifeblood of the new ‘mobile first’ way of working, and the Portégé X30W-J doesn’t compromise here. For fast and reliable wireless connections, the device is equipped with the latest Intel® 802.11ax (WiFi 6) + BT 5.1 module. It also features two brand-new Thunderbolt 4 enabled USB-C ports which enable fast charge, connection to peripherals and data transfer at high speeds. Packed with further peripheral options, the Portégé X30W-J also boasts a full-size HDMI, a USB 3.1 Type-A port, plus a 3.5mm audio jack, while a micro SD card slot provides optional extra storage.
With video conferencing seeing an unprecedented increase in recent months, the device is well-equipped for dispersed teams. It boasts high-quality sound with harman/kardon speakers and Dolby Atmos for sound enhancement, as well as noise-cancelling dual mics. The webcam and a further 8MP world-facing webcam with anti-reflection coating also help to deliver an unrivalled audio/video experience.
The 2-in-1 has been developed to combine the tools needed to meet the demands of mobile working into a highly portable footprint. With a re-imagined design including Mystic Blue chassis and a premium look and feel, the Portégé X30W-J boasts a narrow 4-side bezel and high viewability at all angles of its 360-degree hinge. Support for AES pen provides a flexible and interactive experience, while its Corning® Gorilla® Glass construction delivers enhanced robustness. What’s more, the device’s backlit, frameless keyboard is equipped with larger keys than its predecessor (16x15mm per key), and its ‘glass-feel’ Precision TouchPad or optional SecurePad with fingerprint reader ensure users will get through even the most intense working days in comfort.
The Portégé X30W-J has been vigorously tested for toughness, with its 17.9mm magnesium alloy chassis having undergone a number of MIL STD 810G tests. The device also features dynabook’s new and improved Airflow cooling system and re-designed rubber footing for further cooling and stability. We also conduct Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT) and other stress tests across the chassis, hinge, keyboard and ports of this laptop to deliver the perfect blend of rigidity and flexibility within its gravity-defying light weight design.
The Portégé X30W-J has been engineered to be as resilient internally as it is externally, meeting Microsoft’s Secured-core PC requirements with a range of robust, business-level security measures. The device combines dynabook’s proprietary BIOS, encryption, as well as face and fingerprint authentication to ensure data is protected from increasingly sophisticated cybercriminals. A webcam shutter and security Lock slot also provide further privacy options.

Featuring a mystic blue, aluminium-based design, the Portégé® X40-J is a premium 14-inch professional laptop that provides an uncompromising blend of style, all-day productivity and modern features. Powered by an 11th Gen Intel® Core™ processor and Intel® Iris® Xe graphics engine, the Portégé® X40-J offers exceptional performance, discrete-level graphics and enterprise-grade security. The vibrant 14-inch, narrow bezel display of the Portégé® X40-J is available with either an FHD IPS screen for rich visuals, a multi-touch screen for modern screen navigation or a Dynamic Privacy Screen Technology for increased privacy. With a new, robust design and long-lasting battery, the Portégé X40-J delivers up to a 13.8 hours2 of battery life rating.
Thanks to a range of both wireless and wired connectivity options, the duo adapts easily to any working environment. Each is armed with two brand-new Thunderbolt 4 enabled USB-C ports so mobile workers can charge, transfer and connect all in one go. Further peripheral connectivity is provided by a full-size HDMI port, 2 USB 3.1 Type-A ports plus a 3.5mm audio jack, while a micro SD card slot accommodates portable storage needs. For further connectivity, the Portégé X30L-J is also equipped with an RJ45 ethernet slot. From a wireless perspective, each device is equipped with the latest Intel® 802.11ax (WiFi 6) + BT 5.1 module.
Both the 14-inch Portégé X40-J and 13-inch Portégé X30L-J meet Microsoft’s Windows 10 Secured-core PC3 requirements and adds to Dynabook’s growing collection of highly secure laptops. These two new laptops are built with a robust combination of Dynabook’s proprietary BIOS plus hardware, software and identity protection right out-of-the-box- including enterprise-grade encryption and authentication using biometrics - to enhance resistance to current and future cyber threats.
They are also both configurable with an FHD privacy screen so that screen contents can be made instantly visible to a user’s eyes, using an easy keyboard command. Both laptops also feature an integrated Webcam Privacy Shutter to safeguard users against unwanted access. What’s more, the pair are both equipped with a sturdy 180-degree hinge so they can be opened flat on a desk for easy sharing. While a back-lit frameless keyboard and a ‘glass-feel’ Precision TouchPad with fingerprint reader provide an ergonomic user experience.
These two premium business laptops are designed, engineered and rigorously tested in dedicated Dynabook facilities to deliver an exceptional level of quality and reliability. Dynabook engineered both the Portégé X30L-J and Portégé X40-J to pass MIL-STD-810G standard testing methodologies for strength and durability. The laptop leader also conducts Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT) and other stress tests across the chassis, hinge, keyboard and ports of these laptops to deliver the perfect blend of rigidity and flexibility within these lightweight designs. A new separated Airflow cooling system keeps both devices running at optimal temperatures, including a new rubber footing which elevates the laptop to provide further cooling, stability and comfort.
